Brocarde has recently shared her journey to success with The Sun Online. Brocarde’s story has been bitter sweet and over the years she has experienced bullying and trolling for her look and unique perspective, despite this she has remained true to herself and wants to assure others who may not fit in that there is light at the end of the tunnel. On speaking about her experiences Brocarde says:
“In some ways it was difficult for me open up and share my experiences with bullying and trolling but it’s never been a secret that I’ve always felt like I’m on the outside. Sadly being different, or being perceived to be different, has a price, people feel like they can pass comment, or say and do any number of vile things to bring you down and make you feel like you’re not good enough and not accepted. I’ve always been ridiculously creative, even back when I was writing poems in the school playground, over the years many people have tried to kill that creativity and make me something or someone I’m not. I wanted to share these experiences as I know that there are people who feel the exact same way, some who haven’t found the light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve always wanted to be an ambassador for individuality and I want people to know that you never have to ever be anything other that yourself. The outpouring of messages about this article have been truly heartwarming so thank you everyone who’s sent encouragement and reassurance and a massive thank you.”
